Bateman's Bay

In early January we began settling into our house in Canberra, but we did some "local" exploring before Ian would have to start school. Day trips to Bateman's Bay became very popular with us after this trip to the coast, which is only a two hour drive from us. Here is just one of many beaches in the Bateman's Bay area.
















It was very windy this day (making the air feel a bit cool) and the water wasn't as warm as it had been in Noosa and the Gold Coast (which are 12 hours north!) over Christmas, but there were great waves and Ian and William caught plenty of them!




















I, on the other hand, enjoyed but stayed fully covered/protected from the sun and wind. I know, I know, I look like Katherine Hepburn in "On Golden Pond"; I'm just missing the turtleneck!
