Gold Coast Christmas - II
After a quiet Boxing Day, on the 27th we headed to the Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary. Located near the banks of the Brisbane River, Lone Pine is home to a wide variety of Australian animals - kangaroos, wallabies, tasmanian devil, echidnas, dingos, wombats, snakes, lizards, emus and other birds, and of course koalas!
We had another quiet day on the 28th. On the 29th we headed to the town of Noosa, on the Sunshine Coast, one hour north of Brisbane. The water was even better than the Gold Coast and the surf was awesome - no rip tide, just great wave after wave! We played in the water for four hours! Unfortunately the only digital photo we took at the beach (we were too busy boogie boarding and wave riding/jumping) was this one of me. If I was bigger in one particular area, smaller in others, more toned all over, well-tanned, and blonde with braids I might just pass for Bo Derek!
On December 30th, we went to the Workshops Railway Museum in Ipswich (Queensland) to see the Thomas the Tank Engine exhibit. Here are pictures of William with Thomas and Sir Topham Hat!
